Vaughn I can't say thank you enough. I can only imagine how difficult destination weddings must be for you, but we truly appreciate you making the trip to shoot ours. To whomever might be reading my review, if you haven't already decided by looking at Vaughn's work that you want him to shoot your wedding, I can honestly say that not only was he extremely professional, and obviously good at what he does, he was fun to have around. And as busy as I know he is, he never made us feel as if he was too busy to listen to our desires and concerns. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Thank you so much for coming with us to shoot our wedding. It made having a destination wedding that much easier knowing that we knew the photographer beforehand. Looking forward to seeing the images. I will definitely be recommending you to my friends. Thanks again for everything and we'll be seeing you soon. |

To anyone considering hiring a wedding photographer:
The choosing and hiring of a wedding photographer is a very complex and ticklish task. Not only do you need to find someone whose work you admire, you also have to find someone wh is willing and capable of becoming part of your family for the day. Afterall, that photographer will be in the midst of all the behind-the-scenes activities as well as center stage as the big event unfolds.
Weddings seldom unfold exactly as planned and if everyone approaches the unexpected with good humour, the surprises can even add to the excitement.
In our case, an outdoor, evening wedding, the unexpected was that the planner forgot to take into account daylight savings time and the total lack of lighting that would result.
We were very fortunate in our choice of photographer -- Vaughn Bishop. Another photographer might have given up on the spontaneous shots that capture the atmosphere and romance of a wedding and settled for the staged group shots. Not Vaughn and his excellent partner. Not only were they up to the technical challenges of the job, their very presence was calming and set the guests and family at ease as everyone stumbled around in the dark, looking for their seats.
How they managed to salvage, much less produce fine photos of the ceremony is beyond me. But they did. Their professionalism was exemplary, their kindness and patience an example to all, and most importantly, the results were memorable.
By the end of the evening, we felt we had made new friends. Vaughn's last shot was of our son and newly minted daughter in law, sitting alone at their table, re-reading their vows to each other one more time.
Best of luck to those about to send someone down the aisle. Vaughn Bishop will make the trip a little easier.
